Hi, I recently read a comment made about dwarfs and the difficulty in getting the floor of the udder level or above the hocks
When relaxing with the moos yesterday afternoon I made note of our 4 x about to have/ just had calves dwarfs udders and only one had the udder floor below the hocks
Even our 10 year old who is due with number 8 calf on Sunday' has her udder floor just above her hocks.
Is this something that we dwarf breeders should take note of in breeding plans?

Hello
I only milk infrequently but always have milked my carriers. I had not thought of this before and need to look through my photos when I get a chance. I have never had an udder that was too low for me to milk comfortably but I am probably a little below average height. I am trying to picture the early photos and I cannot recall. Remind me if I forget to respond again

We are about to start milking and our only concern was to raise the whole cow for are comfort. This is very interesting and you see various amounts of milk given. The floor of Lucys udder is about 2" above her hock. So what is the normal milk amount and usual udder size? Genes right there should be some type of a breed reference chart. Gene you have extra time now.
