There were many cows registered as red in the early American imports. . .. primarily from Duv and Gort herds. From 1925 to 1965 . .in America, I could only find 5 Dexters registered as RED, and only 2 of the 5 have offspring. This should be accurate - - - Legacy has just completed entering all the American registrations through Herd Book 3, many of which are not available in the ADCA online registry records. ( Herd book 4 was published in 1966 and is in the works but not complete). The Framfield/Grinstead animals that were imported to America in the mid 1950's carried dun, and some think the color red. . .. . . but since all duns were registered as red in the US. . . . ( and in England as well during this time period), colored photos would be MOST welcome of any non-black Dexters !
