I was posting something on Freecycle and saw that Yahoo is closing down their groups. No one participates in the old Dexter forums but there is lots of information there that will be lost if they remove the groups all together. Anyone know why they are doing this? There are still a lot of people who partipate in various groups on Yahoo.

dextercattle2 group will be the biggest loss. It contains posts dating back beyond 2002, before the split or the disclosure of the origin of polled or the discovery of Dexter PHA or the availability of the chondro test or so many other things. When I got my first Dexter, this was the only Dexter forum.
Is there any place where the entire collection of dextercattle2 posts could be saved?
We have already had to deal with the loss of one very popular group . The name escapes me at the moment. It was run by a Dexter owner from the northern Midwest and his son. They asked for donations to keep in going and when the donations were insufficient they shut it down. What an awful lot of wisdom was lost that day.
Now it is set to happen again and I haven't a clue how to prevent it.

who is the owner of that yahoo group? I wonder if Yahoo would export the info and send it to the owner.
