ah, but I'm pro-abortion under some conditions, anti-organized religion most of the time, definitely don't have time for fundamentalists of any persuasion because they tend to be rabid in their righteous, narrow beliefs (and believe they have the right to pull down anyone who doesn't agree), anti-people who declare bankruptcy multiple times and think it's clever, and hate those who exercise verbal tai chi. I have my own mixed feelings about abortion - but I DO believe there are specific instances when the woman's life, or the baby's life is in jeopardy when the choice must be between the mother and her medical advisors.  HOWEVER, what is going on today, and this is NOT innuendo or untruth. . . .. . it was documented in a court case in California, is the selling of body parts of aborted babies, some of them have to be taken when the fetus still has a beating heart.  A fetus can experience pain at a very young development.  Then, there is the saline abortion.  If you have not seen photos of babies aborted with this method, they are dreadful.  And worse of all, is the killing of babies born alive.  There is legislation which permits this, and it was detailed by the governor of Virginia, a Dr.  That was a dreadful tape to watch, but worse was the tape where an asian delegate who was submitting legislation to allow the murder of live-born babies was questioned.   I absolutely believe in God, but I also have always had issues with "organized" religion.  Probably before my lifetime, but certainly during it, I find too much emphasis placed on the collection of tithes, and too much permissiveness.  The current Pope is an abomination.  As to bankruptcy, I agree, but how to you fault someone for taking advantage of existing statutes.  I worked in the construction industry for years. Our company was severely financially impacted by builders who began projects, purchased the materials, and then as the job wound down, robbed the assets, and then declared bankruptcy.  I believe persons have to be accountable for all their choices.  

Carol, there is no doubt I will be voting.  I love this country.  I am sorely confused by your statements above and then your insinuation you would vote for a MARXIST political ticket, for that is exactly what it is.  Furthermore, the VP candidate is not the brightest bulb on the tree, has no business experience, and no world experience, and if that ticket should win, will be President. .  . .albeit there are reins of control attached.  Every person who has every had an elderly relative with dementia recognizes it in Joe Biden, and recognizes it is fast advancing.  Goodness sakes. .   he cannot be President.  Watch how he walks.  He is getting very feeble.  Every person needs to ask themselves. .. . . . . why the DNC who controls the purse springs and the candidates, has set this up such.   REALLY.  Start asking yourselves the why question.

I grew up in a very small town and everyone was a democrat.  Robert C Byrd's photo hung on a bedroom wall, ( and not because he was a racist, but because he single-handedly pulled his state from destitution), and John F. Kennedy hung on the wall in the living room.  My father, and one brother would vote for whatever name was on a ballot with a D after it.   The county where I lived was Democrat, as was the state at the time.  My first political memory of any type was being at a local restaurant with my father  on the night my state elected John F Kennedy President.  They were writing the vote totals on a blackboard, and there was such jubilation and excitement.   John Kennedy loved the country for which he fought, was wounded, and died.  President Kennedy implored of us, "And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country".   There is NOT a single doubt in mind today that President John F. Kennedy would wish to see a Sovereign America lost to Socialists-Marxists-Communists.    Most of those who are willing to do so are not informed voters, nor were they raised with an abiding love and respect of country, or of those who gave their lives for the Republic.   Does nary a one of them realize the founders of this country risked everything. . .. . . . everything. .  .. . . .including their life, to form a more perfect UNION.   A country never before matched in history for the ingenuity and imagination that made America Unique and Special. 

Well Carol, I am voting for another man who loves his country.  Who works endless hours to bring back the jobs, manufacturing, industry, and pride to a country that was shipped out around the world.   CHINA owned our country.  Joe Biden had a hand in that, but not solely.  Both parties had a hand in it, and in their pockets.   All one had to do was look in their kitchen drawers, their clothes closets,  their medicine cabinets, even in their barns, to see, "made in China" on everything.  We were in debt up to our ears to China.  The most dangerous country on the planet, and that is without even mentioning their dreadful human rights policies.  They have seeded this country with spies for years now, ( one of them drove Diane Feinstein for TWENTY years stealing state secrets).  There are many others.  The theft of our intellectual property is astounding.   Are you OK with giving everything we have recovered back to China? ? ? ?    Not me sister.

President Trump was restoring this country to the greatness he promises, when China unleashed it's bio weapon.  Historic firsts in EVERYTHING.  And I do not doubt for a second. . .  he's bringing it back again and better.  It has already started.
Somewhere on this forum I posted an article or link to an article, " Wall Street versus Main Street", ( or those words in reverse).   It is very clear and understandable what President Trump is undertaking.  It is. . . .simply put. . .  .. . returning America to the American people.   I am all in . .. . . . . . . . . . .. because;

I grew up in a wonderful America.  A small town kid from a poor family.  Good education in a 12 year school.  The only thing that held ME back were stupid mistakes and choices *I* made.  Which is the case with everyone.  I came to the big city, and let me tell you. . .. . . the only discrimination I saw or experienced was to ME!  Everyone in America has the opportunity to excel to their own comfort level.  Some are happy and content being on the dole, some with being blue-collar, some want a higher middle class lifestyle, some want to live in mansions.  I have close family members in most every category.

I do NOT want socialism/marxism/communism as the norm in America. .. . . . and we are getting dangerously close to that.  I am gobsmacked that there was a cabal of MANY men in a coup to unseat a President *I* voted for.  They better be going to jail, because I would never get away with much less.  Under both parties our government has morphed out of control.

I do NOT want open borders.  I want the immigrants who come to America to want to be successful, assimilated Americans, who add to this country, not take from it.   ( and it really sticks in my craw  both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris held up their hands and said they would give FREE health care to ILLEGAL immigrants, ( and they ARE doing that in California).    Do you want to guess how much I pay for health care a year?  How dare they!

I want America to be the vibrant land of opportunity available when I graduated high school, where people left home and went into the military and were trained in professions, or left to work in the steel mills and rubber factories, or go to college for professional degrees, which were affordable to their families.  The system now straps our kids with horrendous debt, and often for degrees they do not use.I bought my first home, a very nice brick 3BR in a nice suburban community when I was just 21 years old.  So dumb, didn't realize one could negotiate a price, but paid FULL price for it.  That house was purchased with hard work.  Dumb inexperienced country kids. . .. . . . so. . . . .. anyone could do it.  ANYONE.

That is NOT the America nor the opportunity my grandkids/great grands will have with  Socialism/Marxism/Communism.  You live in Canada, and YOU plan to place a vote against America.  Well, that's the problem in a nut shell isn't it?

Now I understand why you are such a strong supporter of the current admin.  If you don't like the question, talk about something else to deflect attention:  you both use the same style.  This topic is about c19.  It's out of control in the US, and the states are not getting support from the feds in any meaningful way.  Oh sure, lots of people die of flu, but those that don't don't have lasting symptoms, and lasting damage as is now showing up in c19 survivors.  You quoted a Swedish report that said masks don't help to support your contention, but if you read the report, it says as long as there is social distancing, it probably doesn't make much difference.  BUT if you are in a situation where you can't social distance, then masks are recommended.  Did you misread it?

Just one small example.  Hacking up babies for parts has nothing to do with abortion rights.  A totally separate issue to the real world. 

How can protecting others from your germs (which are happy with you and don't cause you any further issues) be a political statement?  It's about protecting the tribe, not which party you support.  Just plain dumb.  I understand that the cult mentality prevents supporters from actually using what brains they have.  I've seen it in person, and I think you exemplify it in the general population.  Biden weak and feeble?  He's not obese, doesn't wear a corset, doesn't weave and wobble, doesn't resort to orange makeup, has a larger vocab than 'nasty' and 'more/bigger/better than anyone's ever seen', and hasn't a history of bankruptcies.  Oh yes, and he can ride a bicycle.  You sure can pick'm.  cheers, c.

OK.  Back to Covid.   I was NOT changing any subject.   Apparently YOU did, because I was responding to YOU!

Covid.   The President had done a masterful job.   He was the FIRST to realize there was a problem on the horizon when he closed air travel.  I think he knew then China had unleased a bio-weapon.  Level 4 bio labs are "supposed" to have controls in place to prevent what happened.  When you work in a level 4 lab you are in protective clothing head to foot, and you place your hands through holes to work on the other side with dangerous biologicals.  Further, traffic from Wuhan to other parts of China were regulated very quickly but not to the world.  I've read there was no official notification to the WHO as well.   

In the beginning when New York opened as a major hotspot. .. . . do you not recall how rapidly Trump had a hospital erected at the Javits center?( I think there were actually 4 hospitals erected in record time by FEMA).   And the hospital ships were also sent to New York in rapid time.  ( AND they were NEVER used).  Along with that, when President Trump realized there was a shortage of PPE and ventilators, ( because emergency supplies were not stored by previous administations), he enlisted Ford motor company, the Pillow guy's company, Kodak, and other private companies to switch to manufacturing these items, and he purchased from other countries. For instance he purchased millions of doses of Hydroxyclorquine by agreement with India.  ( By the way Carol, we had this discussion.  WHO was right?  You should stay away from the talking points.  YOU are being lied too.  I note this morning that the rabid anti-Trump governor of Michigan has now reversed her position.   The truth is. . . . .  .President Trump has been RIGHT about every thing.   EVERY thing.  He is a thoughtful, analytical business man who makes informed decisions. 

Finally. . .. . . . the MASKS.   It is obvious they don't work.  As a matter of fact, the blue hospital-type masks come in a box that now states they do NOT prevent the transmission of Covid.  In fact, the sheep of America are in more danger from the impact to their immune system from wearing them.  And then there is the children.  Children are NOT dying from covid.  And I will posit to you that "all of a sudden" so many children and adults are testing positive for Covid without symptoms is,
(1) faulty tests (2) antibodies from previous flu shots.   Covid ( Coronavirus is number 19.  There are various versions of flu viruses and people who have taken vaccines likely have antibodies floating around their systems.  Isn't that the purpose of those shots?

Reasonable, thinking, and honest humans will admit this President has been on top of this from the beginning.   You are spouting opposition talking points Carol, but what you do not have available apparently. . . .. . . is a SINGLE better solution offered by that opposition.   Nothing.  There was nothing they could do better.

IF..  . ..  .masks worked.  . . .. .  . .a country that has been wearing them for more than three solid months would not only have flattened the curve, there wouldn't be a curve.

yup, there is still a curve specifically because people are NOT wearing them. Did you see the audience at the mega church in CA? no masks in sight. kids may not be strongly affected personally but they can pass it on to those who will be. So having touted the Swedish article which specifically says use a mask if you are not able to distance, why post it if it's against your theories?

Wow.  You better vote twice Carol, because you'll have to cancel mine too!

By the way, how many businesses have you incorporated in how many different fields?  If you don't know, corporation and bankruptcy laws are created and written specifically for a reason.  If bankruptcy didn't exist, you probably wouldn't have availability or access to many of the things you take for granted today, because individuals and investors wouldn't risk their capital on ideas and innovation.  Investing in a casino business in Atlantic City like Trump did didn't work out for anybody in the long run in that city, but was very lucrative in the short term.  Why?  Because once state and local governments got a whiff of how much casinos, even if run by native american tribes, could provide to the tax rolls, they started popping up everywhere.  Not to mention that Atlantic City is a corrupt place run by Democrat politicians.  Do I need say more? I did a lot of business there in the late 80's and early 90's.  For example, I could catch a flight on Spirit Airlines, that included a 3 night hotel stay, meal vouchers, chip vouchers, and transportation to Atlantic City from the airport for less than $90 US.  The flights were always full with senior citizens spending their Social Security checks (probably in some cases instead of food or housing...lol)   Those flights and deals no longer exist because they can just go to one of the three Indian Casinos in Detroit city, or the one in Mt. Pleasant, or the one in Sault Ste. Marie (U.S), or the one in Petoskey, or the one in Toledo, OH, or the one between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, etc...  There are probably more but I don't gamble so I don't know them all...  So if you invested in a Casino in Atlantic City, I have no doubt that you would have declared bankruptcy as well, despite all of your wealth and extensive family money and history. 

I have a business manufacturing high performance windows and doors, and supplied a lot of high rise buildings along the east coast, including some of the buildings that Trump has build over the years.  I've actually met the man in a meeting on one of the projects.  He is nothing like the caricature that the press makes him out to be.  I found him to be very tough, but fair. Trump specifically asked me if I could perform on the project.  Maybe he was concerned about my age at the time.  I told him this was a great opportunity for me to build the business with such a prestigious project, and that I would make sure we did whatever we could to insure our delivery met the schedule set for the building, provided that we did not have to finance the project.  He had an excellent grasp of what was going on with the project, even though it was probably just one of many.  By the way, I was not only paid in full for my work, I was even paid for "stored materials" that were not yet fabricated and delivered, but for raw materials specifically purchased to complete the project.  I only had to list what was purchased in advance and have an occasional inspection to confirm that they were indeed in my possession.  It is customary on some projects, but I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't remembered my words to him in the meeting and insured that I did not indeed have to finance the project.  But I also have no doubt that if I hadn't performed I would have been sued into oblivion!

It's really easy to armchair quarterback when you haven't been responsible for any decision making.  Any decision somebody makes always affects others, and multiply that by millions when you are in a position like the president is.  Not everybody is going to be happy, and sometimes most people aren't going to be happy, even though it may be a good decision for the long term benefit of the country.

Been to the U.S recently?  If you have, what special strings did you have to pull to come here?...LOL

Sadly, that Luke be compounded by drift from the dreadful fires in California.  They really need to think about workable options if not solutions to minimizing the hazards.
