This is a facebook comment and my response.
For clarification;
There is no location on the internet where the ancestral pedigrees of any Dexters are complete. The most comprehensive database is found on the Legacy website. . .. .as animals are added there is an attempt ( as time and labor permits) to complete the pedigrees for an owner with all the available information. This information is found in herdbooks or online databases. There is no Irish website. The only Irish records available on on the Legacy site. The English records only go back into 1943. Beyond that they are only available on the Legacy website. In order to find information on the pedigrees of Dexters for either of the foundation registries above that are not in the public domain. . herdbooks are necessary. AND VERY HARD TO FIND. I have personally searched for herd books for years.
The bulls that were registered on the Legacy or my personal webpages were there because (1) they were imported from England where an intensive upgrading program began in 1944 and somewhere around the early 2000's the Royal preservationist group in England posted a list which had only a few pure Dexters on it. Which meant that most modern animals had upgrade animals in their pedigree. (2) There was data on the internet or other publications as to upgrossed animals in a pedigree.
There were two bulls in the original lists that were part of the herd book researach effort, but the data was not available until the past year when the first 24 volumes of the English herd books were located and purchased. It was a sizeable investment.
Cornahir Outlaw is a bull available only by purchasing semen. There is very little of that available. That which was used in the past can be found in pedigrees where other imported modern outcrossed animals define the pedigree. There is no traditional animal in the US with Cornahir outlaw in the pedigree. Recently, a US breeder who was considering breeding with Cornahir Outlaw emailed Legacy and asked about the status of Cornahir Outlaw. As is the practice of Legacy anyone with any question is given ALL available information. On any topic questioned. That is one of the strengths of Legacy and me personally. Honesty and trustworthyness. This person was told that recently some herd books had been located and that the only available pedigree information on this bull would be extended as much as possible to answer the question.
Although the English preservation effort did not include Cornahir Outlaw because of information as to outcrossing, this information is NOT documented by herd book research and Legacy does not have any other conclusive data so the person who inquired was told that Cornahir would be removed from the location where it is was clearly stated he was there pending research.
Saturn of Knotting - This bull has NO available semen available in the US. Breeders who have inquired and asked Legacy to check pedigrees have been told that the preservation effort will accept any traditional animals with this bull in the pedigree. His pedigree does have an appendix entry. There is NO information in the record as to why, but there ARE two different stories about the appendix entry. However, Legacy notes that both parents of the C appendix animal have regular registration entries and Legacy accepts Saturn as not having modern upgrading in his pedigree.
There are yet two bulls on the list that have not had their pedigrees extended but a quick browse of their available records show appendix animals in those pedigrees and when time permits their pedigrees will be extended and explained.

Barbara Netti Paul I don't think you've been around long enough to see the whole picture. For example just recently there was a post on here saying Outlaw has been removed from the Legacy list. For MANY years probably 8 or more ,because of this (her) list people thought he was an upgrade bull. Now he's ok? Why the list in the first place? All of the animals are excepted in all of the registries.
