L.O.L. Bill, I can help you out with the meat but not the water. I can loan you my " Roadkill Cookbook" but you would have to promise on your favorite friend's eyesight to return it because I treasure it so much. wink wink. There are some very tasty recipes in it . . .something for everything that wears a tread mark.

Road Kill LOL!! I think I've heard about that cookbook Judy. Somewhere along the way.
Not from experience, but I believe the important factor is the length of time between the "kill" and the "find". Too long and it's best to walk away, and of course it goes without saying a complete "squish" is always best left alone. LOL
I saw a show last yr on TV about the annual "road kill" food festival. It's around this area somewhere, maybe southern WV.

I have butchered a lot of road kill deer. You can even call have the sheriff to put you on a list to be notified when there is a fresh one. Unfortunately the call usually comes late at night.
