OK. Is there an easier way to check online pedigree to see if an animal has polled / Platinum in bloodline?? I'm going line by line and starting to see double.

There used to be a good way to do it on the ADCA on-line pedigree. There was a "Descendants" button that would let you list all of Platinum's (or any other Dexter's) offspring. On a Windows computer, you could then search for your Dexter's name, to see if yours was descended from Platinum.
However, the Descendants buttton was disabled. Requests to re-enable the button have been turned down.
Judy, could this be implemented on the LDCR on-line pedigree?

And the answer is........... No! As you do more research you will begin to recognize herd names that usually connect to polled. If they are late in the pedigree you will usually find SP behind Glenn Land. Shome, Circle H, SGF, Belle Fourche, Hillview, llanfair, Magnetic Harmony. You cannot trace it by the horn status in the pedigree unless you see a P and once seen you can move on. This is exactly why those of us who have asked that SP descendants be placed in their own category do so! Members looking to purchase animals should have it made easier and clearer,

What I was talking about was like going to the Saltaire Platinum page and clicking on the "O" or Offspring button. In addition to the "i", "p" and "o" buttons, have one that would create a searcable list of all of his descendants.
When we had the Descendants button on the ADCA on-line pedigree, it would create a long list with 2 names on each line. They were the names of the descendant on the left side and the name of the other parent on the right side. You could do a search on the list (ctrl F) for your Dexter's name. It woulld find every occurence of that name in the list.
If your Dexter's name didn't appear anywhere on the list, you would know that your Dexter was not a descendant.
If your Dexter's name appeared on the left side of the page, it meant that your dexter was a descendant.
Having your Dexter's name appear on the right side of the list could be ignored. That only showed that your Dexter was bred to a descendant and produced a calf. It didn't mean anything about your Dexter's ancestry.
I used to use it to find out if a Dexter was descended from Woodmagic Wheatear, and should be tested for PHA.
The Descendant's button was removed about two years ago. I requested that it be put back, but my request was turned down.
That's what I was asking if you could activate on the LDCR.

You guys are going about it all wrong! Sadly, I think it's getting easier to remember the lines that DON'T carry Platinum and search that way instead.

Good one Hans!! So True but sad. We're getting ready to list Kate's son Wallace for sale. I know he's modern, Lucifer on her side, but I wanted to be sure about the polled just in case. Thanks for the hints, I'll get my stronger glasses out tonight and get back to work.
He's such a nice little fellow. Black, horned, and built just like his mama. Low and Wide.
