If it weren't for stupid. . . . . . I'd have no moves at all.
Some of you will know or remember Creolin. It is a disinfectant cleaner that used to be used by janitors ( maybe it still is) in schools and hospitals. My bottle, ( what was left of it) just got tossed in the trash today. I have to admit . . . . until I read the label very, very, carefully, I did not realize this was a pretty toxic substance.
I had it sitting on the counter in the kitchen, ( corian - light blue with white and dark specs) and the other night . . . somehow I managed to knock if over. Did not realize I had done that, but it leaked. Next day, very large puddle/stain on the counter top. Looked the color of old scotch tape or old glue. Golden brown and thick in appearance. It will NOT come off. I have scrubbed and scrubbed. Started with soap and water. Then bleach diluted and full strength. Never made a dent in that stain. After attempting a number of things, I called the company. .. . and that was a wasted effort. You would think I was the first person in the world that ever spilled Creolin and then had to struggle to figure out how to remove the stain. I then searched the web for a solution and tried any hint I could find. I've tried butter, olive oil, and peanut butter. WD40. Hydrogen peroxide. I've tried that alone, and various mixtures of it with bleach, baking soda, sea salt. I've tried goof off, ( of whatever it's called). I then read it's a phenol type of substance, ( whatever that is), with properties similar to creosote or tar and Benzine might work. ( What is that - they didn't have it Home Depot?) Next experiment is mineral spirits. Then sand paper I guess, but I've scrubbed and scrubbed with hard bristle brush, soft bristle metal brush, and those green colored scrubbing pads.
Any suggestions?
