It is puzzling to me that my fellow citizens are so willing to cede their rights and privacy.
i have detested FB from the first time I ever signed on. It seems to me the antithesis of American.
First they made me give my birthday. The year, ( to prove I was no minor) would have been understood, although minors just lied and went on anyway. But day and month, and then broadcast it so friends and family HAD to say HB or feel guilty for,the neglect. I tried to win that one by changing the date whenever it neared, but, forgot a while back, and had all these people saying HB when it wasn't. family was lucky...not a single one blew it by saying HB.
Then I heard they had developed facial recognition software and all those members and all those pictures they put up...not only of themselves.....but they are giving up the privacy of their children, and friends, and family. I consider the whole business evil. I have never posted a photo and no one else better. I own me... when China takes over I may be the only person in America they will not be,able to identify. (Wink)
then they asked for my cell phone number. Absolutely fat chance that is ever going to happen. Am I the only person with the thought process to figure out it was not about "security". Tonight I read they have been tracking their members through their phones even when the people are NOT online. Find the article and read it. How dare they.
then there is the format itself which zips by "before the ink dries" and disappears into .....layers of ads actually.
For what good purpose are folks giving up all this information they plaster for millions to see and evaluate through the color of their own particular lenses and turn themselves into FB marketing tools?
