Recently, following some minor surgery, a blood clot created a life-changing health event for a close family member. During recovery I've been helping with Dr. visits, and on a recent visit to a hematologist the Doctor commented that the pat should take a "baby" aspirin each day. There was a follow-up question, and the Doctor stated that EVERY person over the age of 40 should be taking a baby aspirin each day. She said if there is any stomach irritation to skip a day or even two. She said that not only does this aid circulation of blood in preventing stroke, and heart disease, but that it may also diminish risk for cancers like colorectal and pancreatic.
As always. .. . . . you should discuss it with your Doctor first!

I have been on that regimen for over a decade. My doctor says it is keeping me alive.
It is also good for arthritis.
My goat population has aged and 4 of them show signs of joint pain. I have each of them on the baby aspirin regimen. I don't know if it helps as much as it would a human. I've only been doing it since Spring.
They don't call them baby aspirin any more. You are not supposed to give them to babies any more. Now they just call it an 81 mg dose.
