It looks as though there is no more "anonymity" here. Though we have a lot to disagree about, I have to give Kirk credit for not hiding behind a guest account or another name.
I find it ironic in the post that Guest made that with rarity comes value. That is exactly the point I've been trying to make about chondro Dexters. And as a percentage of the breed as it currently exists, they ARE rare. With a number of homozygous bulls now breeding, especially in the hands of larger breeders, at 100% polled calves the number of polled animals is going to skyrocket. Even using a chondro positive bull on all of my non-carriers, only 50% will be chondro positive, and 1/2 of them will be bulls and most will not be used for breeding but instead for beef. Remember, you will only get (on average) 2 or 3 chondro heifers in a cow's breeding lifespan, and one of those is going to have to be the replacement.

Forcing registration on a guest creates a burden for members who have to sign in to read or others who read and don't write. I don't know of a simple way to encourage the fearful to be stand-up folks and own their thoughts and words.

Isn't it possible to allow somebody to read posts, but if they wish to comment then they have to go through the log in process? I think that's how Olga's board works. I don't mind logging in to read, however it may discourage those who may wish to just check out the site and information contained on it without going through a registration process.
With your Dexter Cattle Historical Facebook page they can't easily hide through a pseudonym, it keeps things more civil I think.

I have not found that feature yet! ! LOL! I hope that the guests will just get an identity!
On THIS forum there is NO editing of opinions and no deleting of posts except by request of the writer . . . . . . . unless and until the line of profanity or vulgarity or libel is crossed. . . . ..

That would be perfect, having the forum be public, so everyone can read, but requiring a login to post.
