Judy, in the interests of historical access, have you thought of asking Patti if she would let you have some Bedford Romarc Rambler for restoring lines? I kept a semen bank of rare and early bulls which went with my herd when I sold out, so I'm done. Or, you could try Maryann Stevenson, although I'm told she's hard to deal with. It was my intention to hold long-term special bulls, and then say every 40 years, pick the best two cows in the country, from a pedigree match standpoint and also from a physical quality standpoint, and then make old semen available o regenerate old lines. This was going to be my preservation effort.
I'm sure you probably thought of this, but maybe Ohio State has some old semen, too? cheers, c. |
