I live forty minutes from the White House. The major routes into DC running north/south are I-95 and I-81 and east/west are I-66 to the south through VA and I-70 north through Maryland. All routes eventually connect to the Capital Beltway which circles DC.
It is an awesome experience to be on the highway in the midst of Rolling Thunder as they come into DC or head out!
I might add—————-if you want a once in a lifetime experience. You should plan to visit DC for 4th of July festivities this year. Very special event planned.
