This is a photo of the Baud herd. They were registered as " Baud de la ribe" and the herd was located in White Sulphur Springs, WV. . . home of the world renowned, never less than a five-star resort. . . ... the Greenbrier Hotel. George Washington bathed there in the mineral springs, and Presidents through history visited and during the "cold war". . . actually up until this century. . . . only those in the "know" and locals were aware the huge cavern beneath the hotel housed the emergency shelter for the President and Congress and other necessary government humans. The accomodations were maintained daily in case if immediate need, including having the latest movies and media on the shelves! Beneath the Greenbrier you can now play roulette and blackjack. The greens were home course to Arnold Palmer. I believe Mr. Baud was a chef in the world famous restaurant. His roots were in Scandanavia and years ago he loaned me a book on the Heren cattle which are very similar in appearance to Dexters. Included was a photo of his beautiful collection of Swiss cow bells, and a photo of his Swiss chalet perched on the side of a WV mountain. Dexter folks are as fascinating as their cows!

I surely like Mr. Baud's taste in cow horns! The front line of cows in the photo have 3 distinct variations of Dexter horns, each one attractive in it's own way.
