Hi wvdexters
We thought the same so used that pic for the 'postcard' we were asked to do for a local monthly newspaper: This is what is about to go out across the district.
Greetings from Donlin Dexter Cattle Stud on Boro Rd, Boro NSW
Silence is suddenly broken with high pitched barks and Guinea Fowl alarm calls announcing the arrival of a car: Riley-summer, our 4 year old grandchild has come to visit.
Suddenly she bursts through the gate yelling ‘Hi Nan and Poppy’ as she rushes past us both heading for the shoebox. There is lots of laughter as dogs take turns in licking the accessible face while boots are slipped on. Grabbing the moo-brush Riley heads to the gate telling everyone to hurry up.
We all head down the paddock yet we never need to go far. Every year it is the same ol’ story; the Dexter calves are drawn to their favourite little human.
< -- that bottom pic went here -- >
It’s a good thing we know the G-Child does love her Nannie and Poppy, we just haven’t figured out if we come before the Dexter moos..…….? Cheers Lindsay, Donna, Riley-summer, Cindy-moo and Chase-moo

Oh Donna...though I mentioned your gentle and friendly Dexters, I apparently overlooked mentioning your sweet and special granddaughter! Sorry about that! Enjoy your summer with her!

A good picture like that is what attracts so many people to our breed. The sight of a gentle little moo bringing joy to the farm is so special.

Thank you everyone. Yes summer with the energetic 4 yr old.............thank goodness for work M to F ................:0 No really, she is a good kid, just never stops........... I was really surprised how nice those photos were. I like to think I'm an average photographer but I'm not....I'm a shocker And of course, Gene we just had 500 pamphlets printed recently to hand out at a small farms field day. Wish I had these to slot in between the text - oh well next print run

I'm partial to the arm-around-the-neck mutual hug photo. Isn't it great that your granddaughter shares your love of Dexters?

Hi Lonecowhand, it is great that she does love the Dexters. We are hoping she will continue to love and want to be around the Dexters as she enters the teens and beyond too. Her parents always want to know everything about them and our daughter plays a large part in our 'Joining' discussions each year. She has stated on many occasions the Dexters will be [home] even after she has left this world ..................which is great to know we havent started this 'love affair' only to see it stop when we do. (Which hopefully wont be for many decades to comoe )
