Researchers and those interested in their bloodlines. . . . . . the ancestor animals in the Legacy online pedigree database are now SEARCHABLE! The link is on the search animal page. . . just enter a name or number. . . .. and you can also pull up pedigrees.
Lots of animals added from early 1900's and foundation animals from 1800's with many more to go.
If your animal is in the Legacy registry and you would like to try to fill in missing animals in the pedigree. . .. make a request. Most of the entries except for very early animals are added to fill in bloodlines for owners.
Pictures will eventually be added as well.
Even if your Dexter is not registered in the genotype database you can still likely search your pedigree as the ancestor animals come from all registries, and this effort is for ALL owners. . . . . everywhere.
If your Dexter is genotyped. . . . .and not in the Legacy genotype database. . . .consider adding it along with genetic test results. This information is valuable to the breed, and having the color test information for research, ( think of the ongoing dun issue for example) would be a treasure trove. The cost to add your Dexter is minimal, ($5.00).

I hope Dexter owners are browsing the ancestor files in the Legacy registry and searching their pedigrees! It is fascinating to travel through the years and herd names.
