I went by the farmer's market yesterday for some fresh veggies and one of the sellers has fresh pork from the farm. I love the fresh ground pork versus sausage which has spices. I stopped at one vendor and bought some blueberries and he was going through a list of things they had available including milk and butter. I stopped in my tracks! This is just recently approved. They can sell milk but not in the raw form. I asked him what breed he milked and was disappointed it was Holstein. Kind of hoping for Guernsey because I know they are A2 for the most part.

I love the farmers markets. What great news that they can sell pasturized dairy now. Great for the buyer and the farmer (producer).

We have a great farmers' market in Mineral, just on Saturday. Not only do people sell their produce, etc., but the local humane society brings dogs that are up for adoption (which is a great way to find new homes) and the VA Extension Service puts up a tent there every Saturday morning staffed by master gardeners handing out brochures and free information. I've found that quite useful because I can pull a sample weed or leaf, etc., and they can usually identify it for me. Next time I go, I should buy a few bluebird nesting boxes because we have a generous bluebird population here and only one nesting box. Those little birds are so busy fighting with their reflections in my truck mirrors that I've had to tie plastic bags on the mirrors; now they're battling the dim reflections in the windows!

Hijacking. But you were guilty first Gale! I have Wisteria gone wild! It has taken over the rear of my house. I was going to pull and cut it back nearly to the ground and then I looked out my kitchen window and saw this busy little Cardinal putting the finishing touches on her nest. And it seemed almost overnight that these little bodies appeared.

Ooops, sorry. I confess to being a bird person! Judy, are those little cardinals going to fall out?
