Love looking at photos of Dexters . . . . . . . . . . . . BUT . . . . . . .
Everyone!
This morning I posted a photo. I have other photos on the site. They are reasonably sized. I am asking one more time for all participants to decrease the sizes of the photos or remove duplicates or just remove them entirely if they have been on the site for a bit. All photos will enlarge when someone clicks on them. There are many people with the luxury of having affordable unlimited data. I am NOT one of them and I know there are many others like me. I have not been on any of the boards that have photos that open upon connection for a WEEK now because I was out of data, and so far even staying off sites with photos I am now SIXTY dollars in the red from additional data costs. That is TWO DNA tests and a six-pack of on-sale Dr. Pepper I could have paid for instead of having repetitive over-sized photos eating up my data.
Do whatever it takes to decrease the size please. ..... .OR........

Judy, I suggest you use a text only browser. It will be helpful for all web sites.

Judy,
My pictures take up ZERO space on this site because I don't post ANY pictures on this site at all. I post them elsewhere, and just link to them here.
It's easy to post them on a free site like photobucket and then just link to them from here.
There may be a way where you can completely block people from posting photos directly here, and that will force folks to do it the way I do it, which uses ZERO space here.
I'll be happy to write instructions to show people how to post pictures elsewhere and link them here.

Dummy, your photos use up HER data space on HER service! That costs her money! Try to ubderstand and feel a little compassion.
Do as she says, and remove all those photos you have inundated us with, so she won't be forced to load them every time she views a page. Take out the photo insert and instead just supply a link to the photo, so the reader can CHOOSE whether to view it or not. That would save her the data charges you are costing her now.
People with slow connections will then not have your duplicate photos cost them so much loading time. Did you know that a dial-up connection has to load the photo of Carol Davidson's bull every time it views a page with that photo on it? You have put it on so many threads it is hard to duck it.
Posting the little preview photos lets the viewer choose whether to view the larger version. The photo is stored on proboards, but that doesn't cost viewers money. Posting a Photobucket photo using the IMG link doesn't give the viewer a choice. They are forced to load the full picture. Instead use the Direct link option.
Remove all the photos of cattle you are not authorized to be posting, too. That would save nearly all of the space you waste.

I hope I've posted my photo's the right way. I would post more, because I'm proud for my Dexter cattle. I really don't understand the matter of limited data. I think it's an Amarican way of making money?

Nico
excellent interpretation! Everything in America is about money! i live in an area that is not served by cable which is how most Americans receive their internet. I also live a distance off the highway ind have water on three sides so they will not cross that either. My wealthy neighbor just informed me today he has just found a company where he pays $90 month for unlimited data which he receives via satellite. Well! I think we should all have access and it should be free. And $90 is far too much. It is depressing to constantly have my fellow countrymen ripping me off for obscene profits and it is difficult for me to have that opinion because it goes against my strong Libertarian beliefs.
Kirk. Gene is correct it is the automatic downloading that is the problem. Same thing on Facebook where every thing has a photo or an ad that automatically downloads when you connect.

Judy OK but is my post correctly? the smaller picture and when you click you see the bigger one. your internet costs are absurd. Yesterday renew my internet+TV+HBO+calls for 45 Euro a month. all thru the coper whire!

The only thing that beats the small preview picture is the direct link to where the photo is stored. That gives the viewer the choice whether to spend a little of their available data space or not. That way, if it was another picture of Carol Davidson's bull, you just don't click on it and save your money.
