I see they changed their form again. What are they wanting for genotype #? it says "accession number". is that the leg...# or is it possibly the 16 digit report id. I know from past experience if anything is wrong it will just get returned to me.

Mike,
It is no secret I get very frustrated with ADCA. I thought when they started bringing in people with "worldly" ( professional) business experience that decisions would be more professional as well. Wrong! Because. . . . . they do NOT seek advice from those with knowledge or experience. To acknowledge that someone may know more than them, ( a collective them), would be tantamount to sinking the Titanic again. I say that because. . . . . . . . the professional way to deal with the DNA genotyping when there are samples at more than one lab is this>>>>>>>
RECORD THE CASE NUMBERS SO ALL CAN FIND THE INFORMATION. I am constantly tracking down case numbers. It is an aggravation and time consuming annoyance that should not be necessary. When ADCA lists the status of the genotype on line there should also be the case number for the animal. Simple as that. But good lord you would think it was rocket science or the world would end if someone had that info. Kind of like removing the tattoo numbers from the online pedigree. EVERY other registry prints them. .. ... but . . . noooooo. . . . we had an anal person advising ADCA who convinced them otherwise. . . . and . . . .of course they listened. It really is frustrating becauase we have smart people making dumb decisions.
Legacy case numbers are always LEG ####### UNLESS the markers were transferred from another lab then the case number is LEG/ ( has to have that slash mark).
Texas markers are called ascension. ADCA markers are DEX. .. . . IF they are from Igenity or PDCA they were probably transferred by an owner and I do not know what case number they are given. If they were online with the registration as LEGACY provides it would solve the issue for everyone. .. including UCD who is driven crazy by this nonsense too.
Frankly, they should be calling it a CASE number. .not an ascension number on their online forms. Only one lab uses that term. Wouldn't you think that someone would have told them that? Or that they would have given it a moment's thought?
