Who are the sire and dam? Her horns are short! Is that typical for her line?
The calf sure has a thick coat. I'll bet she stays warm.

gene, dam is Lilly the sire is most likely chance but there are a couple of other colorado bulls it could be. will have to wait for the results to know for sure. Her horns are a little longer than they look with the picture angle. They maybe a little short but she is a young girl this is her first. her horns are also almost totally black.

Congratulations on the new little calf. She is a beauty. You certainly hit the jackpot with the first calf of the season.
It is so good to see the new "Colorados". I'm holding out for Chance. (I have always loved the "look" he has.) You all are doing a wonderful job preserving this old bloodline. A Thank You from all of us.

Once the parentage testing is complete her Legacy registered name will be .. . . . .Legacy Preserve Hannah.
The preservation effort is making strides.

I know what you mean about the all black horns. Bambina is nearly 3 years old and her horns are still mostly black.
Today I was giving the cows some hay when I saw an unfamiliar pair of white horns. It was Bambina, viewed from behind and below. She is finally changing horn colors.
Her grandmother, Bantrybeth, had black horns throughout her life.

Congratulations, Mike! Doubly so, as she's a Heifer! It makes my heart glad to see you folks breed and preserve the old traditional lines. Keep up the Good Work! You all are the hope for the future of the Breed.
She's pretty fluffy , like her mom! Hannah looks like she'll be a good candidate for "Cute Calf Contest"!
Keep the camera handy!
