Hello, I caught the end of the news on Friday night just as they were showing what appeared to be a Dexter (could have been a cross however) and three very healthy and fit calves eagerly following an adult around. Mum gave birth to triplets without assistance and all calves were up and drinking soon after. She readily accepted all three. Owner said she was only a couple of weeks early. They appeared a good size too. It was one of those awwww moments

From the names I'd guess that there is one bull and two heifers. A possibility that the two heifers will be free-martins. I hope not!

I've always hungered for twins! An American breeder had triplets a few years ago. I think the cow was 20 or 21 when they were born!

Now wouldn't that be a Surprise!! Can you imagine the fun, and watching that mama caring for her "little herd".
