It is amazing every season what a weeks time does. Yard and pasture from brown to green, trees budding, early flowers blooming, birds back, t shirt some days, and Dexters and goats playing! Thank GOD some things in this crazy world are still right!

Just a hint of green in the grass here, but I was down in the Detroit area yesterday and I did see some grass truly starting to grow on the south facing X-way embankments. We're usually a couple/three weeks behind the Detroit area, but it sure made me feel a lot better! I've heard that there are some huge flocks of swans in some wetland areas near us (right now I think our farm is a wetland area too), and have seen them in large groups flying overhead.
And the babies are coming in droves for us. We have 6 in the barn right now with two in temporary stalls. Fortunately we have 5-6 steers that will be on their way to new homes in a little over a month. These will be the first grain finished ones we've done, including a grain finished Highland. His will be interesting to see how it compares side by side to a similar finished and slightly smaller sized Dexter.

It is wonderful to look out and see the green. The fruit trees and forsythias are in bloom now. So pretty! The girls are really starting to holler now every time they see me. They can see the grass beginning to grow just on the other side of the fence, and they sure do want over there. LOL! Birds are back nesting in the barn, and a few days ago I was chased around the yard by a darn mosquito... How do they do that so quickly
