Can some sow what is meant by a mealy mouth ?

Think of a Jersey cow. Picture the muzzle area. Above the lip area above t
he nostrils is a band light in color. That is what is called a mealy mouth.

I will look at our Jersey steer tonight . He gets slaughtered soon
and as long as we have dexters I will never feed out another Jersey
the meet is great but I am sure the cost per pound is higher all
they do is eat and still look skinny .
