Today, just as my visiting company was leaving, a car pulled up to the house and out popped an old friend I hadn't seen for a while.
This lady had bought Dexters from me several years back and we enjoyed each other's company. It turns out that she ran across a small statue of a bull that she said reminded her so much of Brenn, that she bought it and brought it to me. She didn't just hand me a statue, it was wrapped in tissue and was in a tote that she had block printed with a profile of a bull that looked like Brenn, too.
Here it is. How do you like it?

That was very thoughtful of her Gene. I'm sure all of the wonderful memories you had of Brenn came flooding back, and that statue will be a reminder of them forever, as well as a conversation piece for other visitors to your farm. Sheril's cousin is a taxidermist, and I joked (there was a little bit of seriousness in there) that if I could get a mold made maybe he could preserve Mike for us! Finding Shadwell and the fact we like him so much probably saved me a lot of money!  |
