This email was dated 3-9-2004. At that time, the ADCA membership was not aware of the internal political struggle taking place within the leadership. This email was not directed to all members of leadership, but only to those now identified as the board "majority" and to Anthony Bauer, who was not a member of the board, but was a business partner with John Potter and proposed by John Potter to replace Rosemary Fleharty.

Everybody,
Sorry for the coarseness of this letter but I need to say some things .. , that I
hopefully will not regret later .. , and have many, many hours of other work that
must be done this morning. If I offend ANY of you - be sure that is NOT my
intent.., just going nuts with all to do. Hopefully you will answer I ask by email
as I don't really have time on the phone today .. waiting for 4 haulers to cali .. , 3
contractors, 2 business partners, the vet .. , and a partridge in a pear tree .. ,
anyhow .. , no time to chat! Also, I beg you all - don't take offense at anything I
write .. , it surely was meant to do nothing besides voice some of my own
individual thoughts.
I absolutely agree that the process of carrying out the actions that the majority
wants is painfully slow. We have few choices though. Everything must be
done as legally and as fair as possible .. , for instance the individual
notification .. , the increasing of the deadlines from 36 to 60 and now another 48
after they are notified individually .. , it is all for the sake of making 100
certain that they will have no legal grounds to cry "foul". Any court in the
world would see that we have stalled, delayed, pushed deadlines .. , sent
absolute notification .. , giving the "silent ones" absolutely every opportunity
(and then some) to vote. Hopefully as this week progresses the few things in
the works willpan out and initiate actions.
Pat - (IPP Patrick Mitchell) you need to quit acting and speaking as an
outsider you have a tone of uncertainty that comes across in your emails. You
are in .. , be it by the vote we did last week or by the date printed on the ballot
for the By-Laws where it clearly states the By-Laws take effect on January 1,
2003. No matter whose definition of "IPP" we recognized .. , you are it.
Dick - ( Director Richard Gradwhol) I received your newsletter the other day. I
WAS kind of shocked (which is not necessarily a bad thing) about your
meetings agenda. Is anyone else mentioning this mess in their newsletter? I
am strongly considering making my now 6 page letter into an 8 page letter and
getting into it a little bit .. , but want to know what everyone else is doing??? On
that note, Dick, I had someone contact me last night- someone I am NOT very
close to or freindly to- and warn you, as a friend and a fellow director that their
will likely be someone at your meeting that is there for the soul purpose of
seeing if you bad mouth the ADCA or invite people to register their Dexters
with YOUR registry. This would be very bad for all of us .. , so just giving you a
heads up as far as what material should be brought up or available to your
"members". I was disturbed at how much information this individual knew and
she may likely be a political problem at sometime in the near future. It is NOT
she that will be at your meeting- but a friend of hers .. , so that is all I can tell
you as far as identity- I don't even know what state she is from.
Shaun - (Director Shaun Lord) Hopefully you are looking into the issue that
may bring some relief to this whole situation. If you do not want to initiate it -
let me know .. , I will. But want to make sure it is done correctly.
John F- (Director John Foley )Please keep the group updated on your
findings and actions as well .. , I consistantly find myself asking JP if you are
drifting sides .. , and am as consistantly reassurred that you surely are NOT but
are a very busy man. Thank you for your efforts.
Rick the Peacemaker - ( Director Rick Seydel) Any luck? Have not talked to
you in a while. Anything new going on?
Joanie - ( Director Joanie Storck )Have you received any further info or
comments from KS or anyone from the "other side" about your returning of
the $1500. Personally I think that it was a very good thing for you to do.
Hopefully (though not likely) it will close the issue. Again, I realize how
painfully slow this is .. , and truly wish it was over weeks ago .. , I have too much
to do and too many other issues that need my undivided attention. Any
response yet from Mark on yesterdays email?
Sandi - (Director Sandi Thomas) I have not heard anything from you since the
3/5 emails we did back and forth regarding the Directors at Large question .. ,
hopefully you are busily preparing yourself to be our new Secretary Of
course you sent a note as I am typing this! I agree .. , regarding Patrice .. ,
suggestions on how to handle this without imposing a problem regarding
getting the AGM information out to the membership?
Carol Ann - ( Director Carol Ann Traynor) Looking forward to hearing from
you regarding your yesterdays email and your findings. I would comment on
Kathy's letter .. , but my blood pressure is high enough right now.
John P- (Director John Potter) Hope your animals are doing better today.
Hope to see that letter of yours soon? And continually like the fact that you
are willing to be the person who seems to be this groups hub of information.
This whole thing is very trying on all of us and we truly need to keep together
as a group. There is strength in numbers.
Sat, Sun and/or Mon) is a very real one. IF I cannot afford what the shippers
have to tell me I will have Everybody- the possibility of me losing my computer
for several days at the end of this week (Fri, to drive half my herd down to NC
by myself and will not have computer access and only mobile phone access.
IF one of these shippers agrees to do it at a price I can afford .. , the loss of
computer service may be confined to next Wed and Thurs. I will let everyone
know .. , as I pack up my belongings and head south .. , out of this snowy mess I
am dealing with today! So far I am planning on keeping the computer set up in
CT until Wed when I move it south. I will be returning to CT within a week after
that and will have computer access at the home at which I will be staying.
Has everybody heard and agreed that I am to send out certified letters
regarding the vote? John F. you will get one also, to have you vote on the
second issue. This is actually a good thing- to show that everyone who did not
vote on a topic got one and not just "the other side". AFTER you get the
letter ..• well- actually I am not going to say- it hopefully is worded to be self
explanatory on how to proceed after you get it.
As a group are we preparing for the worse in the printing of the Bulletin? Are
we collectively going to write a general membership letter .. , NOT to be sent
unless KS (Kathy Smith) or RF (Rosemary Fleharty) messages are clearly damaging to our cause? Hopefully most
of you are going to be on the computer today at some point to get this letter as
I would really like to get these certified letters out either this afternoon or more
likely in the AM. Also- wondering about the newsletter question??? Since
Rosemary and Dean's (I think) are paid positions - and their jobs ended in
February .. , are they paid monthly or yearly? January or July? They must owe
the ADCA money then for incomplete terms? We will need something in the
future bylaws/R&R's regarding this issue for future use. Since we are the
deciding factor on Patrice's (Bulletin editor) employment .. , what are the suggestions here?
Perhaps someone who has a working fax machine could request a copy from
her of Kathys and Rosemarys messages or anything written to do with the
political turmoil? Gotta go .. , may write later as I get responses and
comments .. , again this was just a personal bitch session where I could voice
my thoughts .. , sometimes I do not have time to read and re-read or sugar coat
my messages:)
Warm thought to all from this snowy New England day.
