Just an observation. Every time I mention on the Internet that I have an addiction to Dr. Pepper soda pop, my inbox daily has emails coming in advertising rehab facilities and detox programs. Surreal.
Amd just yesterday I read comments from the computer guru Kim Komando that Google reads the gmail emails and that if you value any semblance of privacy seek email accounts elsewhere. Judy

I think that it is general knowledge that Google mines the emails on Gmail. The G in gmail stands for Google. They own it.
There was a report on our local TV about Google and privacy. They called Google the worst for mining data. They had an example of a lady who google searched a pair of shoes, but didn't buy them. For the next week, every site she visited featured the same shoes on sale for her. Google says they don't sell or give away your data. They only share it with their business partners. The way to get to be a business partner of Google is to pay them. Then they can share all of the Google data on you.
The problem we are faced with today is that everybody else wants to be just like Google, so there are no safe and secure places on the internet.
