baled hay on Saturday. I got a lot of it done and then burned up a bearing in the baler. Lucky the baler did not catch fire. It did start smoking and just a tiny flame that self extinguished. I was able to get a neighbor to help me but all he had was a square baler. So we did what we could I have a rack and a part setting in another neighbors shed until I can get back to it. Not to much left on the field now but it will not be much good by the time I get to it. Tried to fix the baler on Sunday with no luck it is one of the hardest bearings to get to the chains will all have to come off to get to it. It is a odd setup the sprocket is a 2 piece that has an inner cone and an outer cone that bolt together and tighten down on the shaft. The problem is some one has unsuccessfully tried to take it apart before. The threaded holes to pull it were stripped out. I tried to pry it apart and ended up breaking the outer part of the cone off. I give so dropping it off at the dealer tonight for them to repair.

Mike, I swear if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all. This just isn't your year for hay is it? Sorry you're having so many problems.

Mike, it's a rule that you always have to repair your baling equipment, but this is ridiculus! It has to be your turn to be lucky one of these days. Maybe you should buy a lottery ticket to see if your luck has been misplaced.

forgot to mention also this week burnt the points in both of my ford tractors 1 day apart. At least that was an easy fix but still caused me time I didn't have.

Hope your luck changes Mike. Seems like things only break when you need them the most.

Mike , it sounds like you need a Bailer more than a baler! When it rains it pours...
