New heifer coming to Paradise Farm

I arranged to buy a heifer calf from Hannah Short. The calf was born on September 17th.

The parents are Paradise Tullamore Dew and Jams Loree Sith.

Dew is a Windridge bull, the son of Windridge Nollaig (Noelly) and is Brenn's half brother.

Sith is a daughter of Rainbow Hills Ivanhoe, an old favorite of mine. Sith carries Rainbow Hills, Dog Run, Windswept Acres and Peerless blood.

Hannah and I played around with names and finally settled on a name that indicates her southern heritage, RP Short's Hannahbelle.

I've already had a calf named Millie Dew, after Hannah's sister Millie, so it is time to credit Hannah.

It's going to be hard to wait until Hannahbelle is old enough to come here. I'm anxious!

I got word that the other heifer I bought, Chautauqua Cred, will be here in November.

She will be the first addition to my herd since last fall, when I had to sell six.

My herd will be back up to size in short order. Cred, then two December calves and a January calf, then Hannahbelle.

I'm happy about it and can't wait for it to all happen.
