After the last doctor visit and being told of a 20# life lifting limit there has been a lot of serious discussions at our home . Was informed of a job opening , called and was interviewed today .. There will be a lot of prayers , and talk yet but it went very well . They still have two more applicants to interview but nobody close to my experience . The Company and I have been competitors for years and are known to each other . The job would be managing a 10 mancustom millwork shop , 4 , 10 hrs days , 401 , health ins. , and vacation . I told Nancy if things progress what's the question really except I have not had a boss for30 years , our investment in our business, and all of the demands in sole ownership . Sorry just had to vent or something .

Sounds Great, Dave. Good Luck. Four 10 hour days will leave you time for projects and enjoying your family. Better to point than to lift while you mend. Bill

From one business owner to another, what are you going to do with all your spare time, spare money, and peace of mind not having to deal with all the requirements of running one?
Bill (another business owner who obviously likes to punish himself as well) is right. I hope it works out for you.

I have often said that I wished I had a job again, with a quitting time. I'd love to have spare time again.
Good luck to you, Dave.

Final interview next Tue. This will be the third meeting and everything and I mean EVERYTHING seems to be a good fit . Finacial items are to be discussed then . For the first time in a few years Nancy and I are at real peace about this move . PS ; Our former employee who was given 2 -3 years with stage 4 colon cancer has been given a Blessing and is scheduled for surgury on the 13th. and they feel they can do the colon and liver and get all the cancer too . What a GREAT week .

Well the job started Tues . Worked tues. , wed . , thurs. and 38 hours off until mon. So much for 4 - 10 hr. days . I have not even started with the tool room and maint. depts. yet . Lots of opertunity (fires) to work on . Although Hoge's bottom line is part of job I dont recieve bills or have to pay them directly there and that is a relief . Now to just get our company sold .

It is such a nice thing that things are going well for you! I hope your position does not require you to put strain on your back/spine and it has time to recover as much as it will.
