OK. OK
I'll be the first to say it. Yes, I know it was a cold winter. And yes, I know it was a long winter. And yes, I couldn't wait til spring.
But!!! Man is it hot!! ..... Hold the laughing
I am sitting in the AC right now. And will be here until at least 7pm. The Dexters are all in the field with the giant Oaks. They have plenty of water, a breeze, and are just fine. I on the other hand am melting. Not to mention with poison on my hands and arms....and it is itching.
But yes, and Hans I'm sure you agree, ........... It is still better than winter!!!

Perfect weathjer for making hay. One of the new people I met buying hay told me that this cutting is the best cured hay he's seen in years.
His family bales many, many round bales. He is fattening two steers in his barn and wanted some square bales. I traded him 40 square bales for 4 round bales. That's a good deal for me. Not only that, but he helped me load a trailer full of hay bound for my hay barn.
It may have been hot, but we didn't notice in the flush of making new friends.

Mid 90s here. Definitely hay making weather. Sorry to hear about the dry conditions in Ohio Dave. Hopefully you'll get some rain soon.
Just went down to the garden to do a little watering and tripped over the hose. Darn glasses. I did a good one. LOL I'm OK, just going to be stiff tomorrow.

That's pretty hot! It's probably humid too I'd guess... We actually had patchy frost and 36 degrees here a few mornings ago. A high of 82 today but the humidity wasn't too bad. I heard it was in the 90's just to our South with a lot of humidity. Now we have nice breeze off the..lake and it's dropped to the low 60's now. High of 65 tomorrow and we're supposed to be in the lower 40's Sunday night. It has been dry here, no rain to speak of for at least a month. Some rain expected Monday night but not much. Our pastures are not recovering very fast after they've gone through on their rotational grazing. At least it hasn't been too hot to burn things up, but we could use some rain like Dave.

Thanks Gene, I'm a little stoved up, from catching myself. Mainly my wrists/arms, but thank goodness I did. Such a silly thing to do. I pulled the hose there. LOL!
The good side is I'm taking it easy today, AC. (But I would rather be outside getting some things done.) The cool temps do help with the itching.
Last night only got down to 78F. But high 80s today is better than yesterday.

I guess we were in the bulls eye of the low pressure yesterday, for the rain gauge said 5" of rain from 9am to 5 pm. We definitely were walking through a lot of standing water in the late afternoon as we were reeling up temporary lines. We really needed rain, so it was still welcome.
How about that weather at the AGM? 105 degrees! It made it all the way to 65 here yesterday, and will be 70 and sunny here today through Saturday with a nice breeze off of the lake. I did hear mid-80's for Sunday when the wind changes to out of the SW, then a cold front comes through and cools it back down with highs in the upper 60's to low 70's most of next week and sunny. That will be good for the hay folks, who are about ready to do their first cutting. I better get ready for it, because I'll soon be loading up the barns.

Good to hear you finally got some much needed rain Dave. Hopefully things will start improving soon and the drought will be over. I'd rather have too much rain than not enough. How's the hay looking with so little rain?
We probably got over an inch yesterday. Much appreciated. Most of it though came at once in a big storm so hopefully a lot of it got down into the ground and didn't just run off. Jeff said the streams/river were running high/muddy this morning on the way home from work, so we'll see. It's still misting this morning, just enough to keep everything wet.
Hans 5in might be a bit too much. LOL Around here we'd have major flooding.
I can't imagine 105 at the show. Hopefully everyone and the animals will be OK. That's hot and from what I've seen on other posts stormy too, so they're having high humidity. I've never shown before but I can imagine that's a lot of work watering and caring for the cattle.
Yesterday high 80's high humidity was not great here. It was sticky and hard to work in by 9am. Today is so much cooler. I'm still so far behind on my "to do" list it is funny. It's been one thing after another. LOL. I do feel much better now. The poison is gone, thankfully. We finally gave up on the garden tiller and got a new one. So now I'll be able to get after the garden instead of just using a hoe and hand weeding. The pasture work is coming along. Still cutting down trees but we're getting there. The good side is we'll have lots of fire wood. We did drop one on the fence though, so I'll have to get that part fixed before the Dexters rotate back into that section.

we have been 90 to 100 for over a week now. We got 2.5 inches last Saturday morning at our house but only .2 down the road where are pastures and hay fields are. It is a little dry but not bad yet. I always get a little concerned when I see a pattern of rain in the forecast that then gets removed from the forecast before it gets here. Only one day in the forecast with rain and they have been lowering the chance of it. I bet they take the rain out completely.

And so just to be contrary out here on the left coast, it happens to be drizzling this a.m.!
High temps of 68 degrees!?! What the heck? ordinarily we have triple digits starting about Mothers Day. i took my 95 year old mom up to go for a boat ride and picnic on a local mountain lake on Wednesday, got there and it was snowing! It's at 5000 foot elevation , but still , this is middle of June! Criminently!!!
I've always loved thunderstorms and big rain storms, so it sounds great out there.
