While some of you have snow each year, it's quite a novelty for us. So much so the grandchild is dragged out of bed late in the night so she doesn't miss it. And nannie is phoned to check Facebook page of g-child out in the snow *S* It rarely stays around more than a couple of days.

The 5 minute hail storm however is not such a novelty especially when one is off the grid with solar panels on the roof. But panels were ok

In a case like this, Donna, "like" means I appreciate the post! Not that I like the problem. Hail makes driving dangerous, like ball bearings on the road.
Great share of the grandchild in the snow tho!

I've often wondered about solar panels and hail. What an investment to lose so quickly. I'm glad to hear yours made it through.
We get hail hear occasionally. Not the huge baseball sizes you hear about from out on the plains, but $.25 size. Did a number on my car a few yrs ago.
I bet your little grandchild just loved that snow!! It is fun, especially with little ones.
I always think it's funny when the calves see their first snow. You can see it in their eyes. Woo Hoo! Then towards the end of winter that woo hoo is gone. LOL

I've often wondered about solar panels and hail. What an investment to lose so quickly. I'm glad to hear yours made it through. Every time I hear that distinct sound on the roof I hold my breath. They do have a hail rating but only to a certain size. We did have the panels framed on the ground at one stage but this proved to be even more impractical for many reasons.
Not the huge baseball sizes you hear about from out on the plains, but $.25 size. Did a number on my car a few yrs ago. .25c.........OK Im envisioning that it is around the size of a .50c I always think it's funny when the calves see their first snow. You can see it in their eyes. Woo Hoo! Then towards the end of winter that woo hoo is gone. LOL Oh I never thought of calves seeing snow for the first time......it certainly would be one of those awwwwww moments.
I bet they are very well over the wonder of snow by the end of winter *LOL*
