Thats pretty cool, Judy! Not too far from where I grew up, but never saw a dexter out there! Giant Holsteins are the staple.
Do you know if there are any 'La Mancha' descendents left anywhere these days?

Probably Colorado and some of the traditional animals. The LaMancha herd was the herd of the Robertson family. I assign to them the promotion and preservation of the Dexter breed for I think they gathered nearly every small black cow in Ireland and entered them into the herd books. If you look at the historical pedigrees and do a search on LaMancha you will see the extent of those that are entered to date, and most of the Irish herd books are yet to be entered. (the Irish ancestors of English cattle are entered and connected).

Do you know if there are any 'La Mancha' descendents left anywhere these days? Saltaire Platinum has lots of La Mancha in his background, so most all polled Dexters are La Mancha descendents. This cow is on all my pedigrees (via Judy's corrected version of Saltaire Platinum's pedigree) legacydextercattleregistry.com/pedigree.php?registry=D®no=EF3458

Kirk . . .. you say that with pride. Pride for historic heritage! You are beginning to "get it". Smiling.
I wonder if one could find a Dexter in the world that doesn't trace to La Mancha. The Robertson clan entered hundreds of foundation Dexters.
Well, try this challenge. Is there a living Dexter that dates to the first registrations?
Irish # 1 Male was Aicme Diamond Irish #1 Female was Irisene
The 1st English herd book began with #15 for males and #2 for female. So the earliest number entry in the English herd book was Castlecroft Kate Kearney EF2

Judy, I very much appreciate all the work you have done to make these very interesting historical records available online to everyone.
You're right, I'll bet there are no Dexters alive today that don't descend from the La Mancha animals.
Does your system have the ability to display the offspring of an animal? That would be a very useful feature.
